On 29 May Nicolas Schmit joined Teresa Ribera, PSOE head of list to the EU elections, in a rally that gathered dozens of supporters in Brussels. Together with the leader of the Spanish delegation in the European Parliament Javier Moreno Sanchez and PES Secretary General Giacomo Filibeck, they discussed the challenges Europe is facing ahead of the elections and in the next mandate.
