Nicolas Schmit travelled to Budapest, Hungary, on 13-14 April. On Sunday, the common candidate met with DK leader Ferenc Gyurcsány, Vice-Mayor of Budapest and MEP candidate for the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) Kata Tüttő and gave a keynote speech at the DK Congress.
On the eve of the Congress, the PES Common Candidate met with representatives of Hungarian trade unions and PES full member party Democratic Coalition (DK).
