PES Leaders Conference – We stand together for our Europe

The PES Common Candidate Nicolas Schmit participated in the PES Conference – We stand together, for our Europe – in Bucharest, Romania.
The event featured speeches and interventions from PES President Stefan Löfven, Prime Minister of Romania Marcel Ciolacu, Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, PES Secretary General Giacomo Filibeck, S&D President Iratxe García and other high-level speakers. Hundreds of activists and supporters attended the event.
Before the conference, Common Candidate Schmit and Romania’s Minister for Labour and Social Solidarity, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, visited a textile manufacturer providing apprenticeships and employs people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Afterwards, he met with young people to discuss the European labour market.
